Backgroung of case
During production, the cargo entered conveyor from feed part and run to the designated location for processing in sequence. After processing, the conveyor chain deliver goods to exit, and the entire process keep repeating.
Problem: Thre are many dangerous devices on the conveyor line, and these devices cannot distinguish people and goods. If any employee accidentally enters the work area or performs an incorrect operation, and the equipment fails to stop running in time. It may cause serious casualties.
Requirement
1.Conveyors need to have intelligent detection function, which can accurately distinguish between people and goods, ensure goods can flow normally, but when people enter the working area, the equipment can immediately sense and shut down to ensure the safety to the staff.
2. When equipment is under maintenance, it must have safety protection functions to prevent the machine from accidentally starting and ensure the safety of personnel entering the site.
Difficulties
The difficulty of this project is how to accurately distinguish between people and objects.
In response to above problems, Shenzhen ESPE carefully designed a set of muting solution based on the specific conditions of the site.
By using the combination of safety light curtains+programmable safety control modules+sensor, and through the intelligent transformation of the conveyor line, it has achieved effective result successfully.
1.The layout of entrance & exit, sensor and safety protection device should be ensure when muting status, people can not get into danger areas. In additional, the length of goods need to be larger the sensor distance, d4>d5.
2.Muting sensor need to be close to the safety light curtain, and ensure d1 &d3 distance less than 200mm (d1 to d3<200mm), at the mean time the d1&d>v multiplied by system response time. Here d1 and d3 represent the distance from sensor to the safety light curtain.
3.The distance between any two muting sensors should be far enough to avoid being triggered simulaneously by a person's feet due to the small distanc ebetween them (d2>250mm).
4. The position of sensor (distance between S1 & S4) should ensure that a cylindrical objects with 500mm diameter and the axis parallel to the protection zone cannot activate the muting function, when moving at a speed of up to 1.6m/s in any position of the door.
5.The distance between muting safety light curtain and danger equipment need comply with the safety dsitance formular S=K*T+C, that is S=1.6mm/ms*(10ms+30ms+equipment downtime)+850mm. Under the permise of following the ISO13855 standard, the installation safety distance can be determined by this formula.
